About Future Ghosts

A soundtrack for overthinking.

Band Members

  • Nate Bleecker artist photo

Nate Bleecker (guitars/vocals/production) has been part of Future Ghosts since day one, back when it was just an idea and a lot of shared playlists. On our debut album, he added vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass, and he produced and mastered it himself. All of which just raises the question of “What did Klein actually do?” His influences run from Weezer to Talking Heads, and seeing Pixies and Weezer live a few years ago remains a personal highlight.

By day, he's a youth pastor and a self-described dog mom. He also has a scar on his elbow shaped like the number 4, which we believe makes him the fourth iteration. Earlier versions had some bugs. He hates pineapple, except on pizza, which is the one wrong way to enjoy it, and you should make him defend this mistake.

  • Klein Maetschke artist photo

Klein Maetschke (vocals/guitar) is a founding member of Future Ghosts, and is, to be diplomatic about it, a recovering sadboy. He came up in the post-hardcore scene in the band, Silent Like Auburn, and has been finding quieter ways to sing more devastating things since then. He has seen both living Beatles. But, watching his favorite band, Manchester Orchestra, play a small venue in Lexington with his sons was the experience he cherishes more.

By day he's a web developer and by night a devoted D&D nerd. He was on a home renovation TV show hosted by a soap opera star, where they turned his garage into a dining room. He was also once in a ska band, but any evidence of this has been “accidentally” destroyed.

  • Vinny Flick artist photo

Vinny Flick (bass) loves music. If you want to know his favorite band, clear your schedule first. The man's tastes run from Jimmy Eat World to Hank Williams and everywhere in between, which tells you just about everything you need to know about him. A veteran of the music shop world and alumni of bands including FOUR, Sub-Urban Situation, Eight Inch Elvis, and about a thousand others, Vinny is the most experienced musician in the room by a significant margin.

He joined Future Ghosts in the fall of 2025 and immediately raised the average. When he's not holding down the low end, you can probably find him admiring a classic Cadillac, digging through vintage stereo equipment, or watching Star Trek. At age 8, he was nearly gored by a bull on Story Ave in Louisville. We're not saying that's why he's so hard to rattle, but we're not not saying it either.

  • Danielle Howland artist photo

Danielle Howland (keyboard) was asked who her favorite band was. She asked, in reply, if Musical Theatre counts. For our purposes, it does not. So she went with AJR, and then mentioned a Lumineers show she loved. After some time away from playing orchestral music, she took the leap and joined Future Ghosts in the fall of 2025, landing behind the keys/synth like she never left.

When she's not doing that, she's probably outside, either gardening, painting, or just enjoying the fact that the sun came out. She's also a color-expert hairstylist, which is either totally unrelated to being in a band or one of the most rock and roll things about her, depending on how you look at it. Oh, yeah. She also has a three-foot ball python named Lemmie, who is living her best life.

  • Sean Smith artist photo

Sean Smith (drums) has been making noise since elementary school, when he got his start in percussion ensemble, and honestly not much has changed. Sean's first love is and always will be guitar. So naturally, he's behind the drum kit. He joined the band in the fall of 2025, bringing with him a love for The Strokes and an energy level that makes a lot more sense once you know we have video footage of his first mosh pit. We are holding it hostage, and we are accepting offers.

By day, Sean is a Registered Nurse, which means he is professionally qualified to assess the damage after said pit. He also didn't eat his first hamburger until he was 16, which raises a lot of questions we are still looking into. Sean was only a few months old when the 90s happened, so no, we will not be doing that cutesy trendy Instagram reel.
